The One Thing Writers Need

I first read Franz Kafka in 2006 during a long commute in and out to a busy radio station where I worked as a producer.
I was fascinated by his story The Metamorphosis, a tale about a man wakes up transformed one morning into a fly. I told anyone who would listen that Kafka was a literary giant.
As much as I love Franz Kafka’s writing, I was even more fascinated by a man who achieved no success during his lifetime and told his friend to destroy his works after his death.
And yet even though Franz Kafka didn’t believe in himself, his audience believed in him.
In this new post, I explain how to believe in yourself and your writing.
